Why overloaded power points are a risk
Running too many appliances from one outlet through power boards and double adaptors can overheat the outlet and wiring. Scorch marks, a burning smell, warm face plates or power points that crackle or spark are warning signs, so switch them off and get them checked straight away.
Safety switches come first
New or altered circuits must be protected by a safety switch (RCD). If your home has old fuses or no RCDs, we’ll let you know whether a switchboard upgrade is needed before adding new circuits.
Planning your new power points
We’ll help you work out the best spots, whether it’s behind the TV, beside the bed, at desk height in the home office or on the kitchen island. In most homes we can run new cables through walls and ceilings without major mess, and we always clean up when we’re done.
Servicing homes near you
We install power points every week in Kelmscott, Armadale, Roleystone, Byford, Harrisdale and surrounding suburbs.
Frequently asked questions
Can I replace a power point myself?
No. In WA, all fixed electrical work, including swapping a power point, must be done by a licensed electrician.
How much does a new power point cost?
It depends on where it’s going and how easy it is to run the cable. We’ll give you a fixed quote upfront, and adding several at once is usually more cost-effective.
Are USB power points worth it?
Yes, for bedsides, kitchens and home offices. They free up sockets and remove the need for bulky chargers.
Do I need a special outlet outdoors?
Yes. Outdoor power points must be weatherproof and RCD protected to suit wet locations.
All our electrical work is carried out by a licensed electrical contractor (EC 15388) and comes with a 3 year warranty.
