RCD rules for WA homes
- WA homes must have at least two RCDs protecting all power and lighting circuits before they are sold.
- Rental properties must have at least two RCDs protecting all power and lighting circuits before a tenancy begins.
- New or altered circuits must be RCD protected under the Wiring Rules.

Test your RCDs regularly
Press the test button on each RCD every three months. The power to that circuit should switch off. If it doesn’t, call a licensed electrician straight away.
